What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is an evidence-based approach to promote optimum health through dietary and lifestyle changes. It is about using whole foods to support fundamental physiological processes in the body such as growth, repair, hormones and neurotransmitters production, digestion, and toxin elimination to improve health outcomes. It is recognised as a complementary therapy for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.
Why Personalised Nutrition?
Nutrition can be confusing with so much conflicting and ever-changing information and advice being interpreted by media and health experts.
It is tempting to want to jump on board with a diet plan or take dietary supplements that seem to have worked so well for someone else.
However, in reality, there is no perfect diet for anybody as your body has a unique combination of needs for different type of nutrients and food components depending on genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors. Therefore, what works for others may not be right for you and your unique biochemistry.
As a Nutritional Therapist I consider each individual to be unique.
I recommend personalised nutritional and lifestyle programmes that are based on your own individual needs (bio-individuality) rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I use a wide range of tools such as a detailed health questionnaire, lifestyle and dietary analysis, medical history, symptom analysis, and functional testing to assess and identify potential nutritional and physiological imbalances that may be contributing to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns.
